Dont Pull On Supermans Cape

By: Matthew Terenzio
Writer | Pigskin PressThe past week we have noticed many stories about the controversy between Tom Brady and the New England Patriots organization. Multiple ludicrous assumptions came out after Brady was benched in the fourth quarter against the Kansas City Chiefs during last weeks Monday Night match-up. Will Brady retire with the Patriots? Will Garoppolo start versus the Bengals?
These questions would all be relevant, if we weren't talking about Tom Brady. How often does Tom Brady lose one week by astronomical margins, then come back the following week and suck? Almost NEVER. Brady proved himself to doubters this weekend, crushing the bengals defense 43-17, with a solid 2 touchdowns, and over 292 yards with a completion percentage of 65.7%. Not only did he come back with a vengeance, but he also surpassed 50,000 career yards. This young offense looked impressive this weekend, leaving critics excited for next weeks game versus division rivals, the Buffalo Bills.

Two veterans, one team. To us diehard Patriots fans, it was no surprise that the Patriots offseason would include improving on our young inexperienced defense. The Patriots owners, coaches, and staff decided to acquire a longtime veteran cornerback, Derrelle Revis. To some, it was a ridiculous move. To others it has been the best defensive move since the resigning of Vince Wilfork. But where do the Patriots longtime veterans stand when it comes to the signing of Revis?
Brady threw not a single pass to a receiver covered by Revis in 11-on-11 drills during last weeks practice, stated by Karen Guregian oftThe Boston Globe. When being interviewed by TheMMQB.com’s own Peter King, Brady stated he was, “Already tired of throwing against him.” This, coming from one of the top elite quarterbacks in the NFL is pretty impressive. However, it’s no surprise to me with Revis’ work ethic. Prior to tearing his ACL in 2012, Revis was on track to be the best to ever play at that position.
